We bring together the forces behind advanced therapies
ATMP Danmark is a national collaboration structure intended to strengthen the development, testing, and use of advanced therapies. We bring together hospitals, research environments, authorities, and industry through a single shared entry point for knowledge, guidance, and collaboration.
That’s why ATMP Denmark exists
Advanced therapies offer new opportunities to treat both rare diseases and some of the major public health conditions for which there is currently no effective treatment. But the path from research to treatment is complex. Compared with traditional medicinal products, advanced therapies place special demands on both clinical trials and the conditions surrounding their actual implementation, which require close collaboration across many stakeholders.
That is why ATMP Danmark exists.
We work to strengthen the Danish ecosystem for advanced therapies through better coordination, collaboration, and knowledge sharing across research, clinics, authorities, and industry.
At the same time, we work to position Denmark as an attractive and competitive environment for the development, testing, production, and implementation of advanced therapies.

This is how we are organized
ATMP Danmark is organized with a steering committee, a broadly composed reference group, and an independent secretariat that drives and coordinates the day-to-day work. The steering committee can establish time-limited working groups when there is a need for specialized knowledge.
Political support
ATMP Danmark is based on national, political strategies and was established by the Ministry of Health and the Church, Danish Regions, and Amgros as an association. ATMP Danmark is funded with a total of DKK 28.5 million through the Life Science Strategy up to 2023 and the Strategy for Personalized Medicine.

&
The Strategy for Personalized Medicine
Denmark should be a leading country in the development and implementation of ATMP by strengthening the framework conditions for clinical research to attract more clinical trials to Denmark, support the transition from research to treatment, and make it more attractive to market ATMPs in Denmark.
Drive projects and initiatives
The secretariat plans and follows up on activities, ensures progress, and turns knowledge into concrete deliverables.
Sets the strategic direction
The steering committee sets the strategic direction, prioritizes initiatives, and closely monitors progress.

Agenda and minutes
From the meetings in 2026
A strong link between knowledge and practice
The reference group contributes professional perspectives to analyses and deliverables. It represents the ecosystem, acts as a link, and helps ensure that the work stays close to practice, and that new knowledge is shared and put into action.

Organization after 2027
ATMP Danmark works to establish a shared coordinating entry point by the end of 2027.
Denmark must be strong in the development and use of advanced therapies. This requires an organization that brings research, development, and clinical practice closer together—and that creates a sustainable framework for the ATMP area after 2027.
The organization must support:
Close interaction between research, development, and clinical application
Clear frameworks, strong collaborations, and sustainable structures
A long-term anchoring that strengthens Denmark’s position within advanced therapies
That innovative treatments can benefit patients at a high professional level
